DNV joins DCSA+ to strengthen trusted data exchange in container shipping

AMSTERDAM, 9 JUNE 2026 The Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) today announced that DNV has joined its DCSA+ partnership programme, bringing its Veracity data platform to the effort to build and support a trusted maritime data ecosystem across global container shipping. Veracity is a cloud-based data platform, developed by classification society and technology provider DNV, which enables stakeholders across the maritime value chain to securely share and reuse verified emissions and operational data. With the possibility to connect to majority of the world fleet and over 90 data and solutions partners globally, Veracity supports a broad ecosystem that connects shipowners, charterers, ports, solution providers, and other stakeholders through standardised data flows. Through DCSA+, Veracity will support the development and implementation of shared industry standards aimed at improving interoperability and enabling more seamless data exchange across stakeholders. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to strengthening trust, connectivity and consistency in maritime data. The challenge of fragmented, non-standardised data is often most prominent where information must move between multiple stakeholders and systems, especially in emissions reporting and wider supply chain collaboration. Operational data is too often manually processed or interpreted differently between parties, leading to inefficiencies, delays, and distrust. As emissions data becomes increasingly tied to commercial transactions and regulatory obligations, the need for transparent, standardised data exchange has never been more critical. A key focus for DNV is building a more connected ecosystem. One that enables interoperability, automation, transparency, and the reuse of data across the maritime value chain. This work aligns with DNV's 2030 strategy, which places strong emphasis on combining digital capabilities with deep domain expertise to support customers through complex transitions safely and efficiently. For DNV, joining DCSA+ is a further step in supporting a more connected maritime industry and contributing to trusted digital infrastructure that can serve both current operational needs and future AI-enabled applications. Mikkel Skou, Executive Director at Veracity by DNV, says: “Maritime data only compounds in value when stakeholders trust it and can share it securely across their value chain. That trusted data foundation is what we are building through Veracity - thousands of vessels and 90 partners around verified, standardised data flows that support emissions reporting, green finance, and value-chain collaboration. Joining DCSA+ reinforces our commitment to interoperability and common industry standards." Mariana Bock-Losada, Chief Growth Officer at DCSA, adds: “DCSA+ was created to bring the container shipping ecosystem into our standards development and implementation efforts. By welcoming DNV and the Veracity platform, we strengthen our collective expertise in trusted data exchange and ecosystem connectivity. This collaboration helps ensure our standards support practical, scalable integration of data, from emissions reporting to wider supply chain collaboration, accelerating adoption and delivering measurable impact across the industry.” DCSA+ extends DCSA’s collaborative approach to standards development to include carriers, technology providers, cargo owners, forwarders, feeders, and terminals. Partners gain structured access to implementation support, early insight into emerging standards, and opportunities to shape solutions that are scalable and aligned with industry needs. DCSA Media contactDCSA Marketing [email protected] Veracity by DNVGabriela Stojicevic Head of Marketing and Communications[email protected]  About DCSA+DCSA+ is a partnership programme designed to accelerate the adoption of digital standards across the container shipping ecosystem. It extends DCSA’s collaborative approach beyond ocean carriers to include technology providers, cargo owners, forwarders, feeders, and terminals. Through DCSA+, partners gain structured access to implementation support, early insight into emerging standards, and direct opportunities to shape digital solutions that are scalable, practical, and industry-aligned. The programme is built around three pillars: Connect, Accelerate, and Contribute. About DCSAThe Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) is a neutral, non-profit organisation founded by 10 of the world’s largest ocean carriers. As the collective voice for digital transformation of container shipping DCSA works to align the industry behind open digital standards that improve interoperability, unlock data-driven insights, enhance customer experience, and drive sustainability. Through shared frameworks and cross-industry collaboration, we aim to enable a transparent, secure, and seamless global supply chain.
