In 2024, we proudly celebrate our five-year anniversary. Over the past half-decade, DCSA and its members have worked diligently toward a common goal: to develop and implement open digital standards for the container shipping industry. With your support, we’ve laid strong foundations for a future where maritime transport is more transparent, efficient, and resilient. Over the past year alone, our website visits have nearly tripled, illustrating increased industry engagement, and we're on the cusp of reaching 24,000 followers on LinkedIn. We look forward to the next five years—and beyond—of innovative collaboration.
New Partnership with PIL
Another milestone this year was the addition of Pacific International Lines (PTE) LTD (PIL) to our growing network of ocean carriers. You can read the official announcement about how PIL joins DCSA to advance container shipping digitalisation standards. With PIL on board, we’re broadening the collective influence of the DCSA mission, enabling more uniform adoption of digital standards across the industry.
Global Leaders Commit to Enabling eBL
Digital transformation continues to accelerate as global leaders reaffirm their commitment to the electronic Bill of Lading (eBL). Backed by top carriers and influential stakeholders, this pledge reaffirms our shared vision of a fully paperless shipping environment. Increased eBL adoption will bolster security, reduce administrative burden, and improve supply chain visibility for all.

Key Releases: Commercial Schedules 1.0 and OVS 3.0
This year saw the launch of two important standards. Commercial Schedules 1.0 sets the stage for more transparent and consistent commercial data exchange, while Operational Vessel Schedules (OVS) 3.0 builds on the foundation laid in previous releases, offering enhanced predictability and real-time visibility. Together, these standards help align carriers, ports, and other industry stakeholders around a common framework.
