AMSTERDAM, 27/01/2026The Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) announces that Contship has joined DCSA+, becoming the programme’s first terminal operator partner.Contship is an integrator of containerised logistics, combining intermodal transport and port terminal operations to connect global supply chains. The Company joins DCSA’s partnership programme to contribute to the development of common digital standards that reduce data exchange fragmentation and support more consistent, reliable services for customers and partners. As a terminal operator managing multiple container terminals and inland hubs across the Mediterranean and Europe, Contship operates at the interface between shipping lines, logistics providers and cargo owners. The company views interoperability and data consistency as practical enablers of efficiency, resilience and transparency across supply chains.Through DCSA+, Contship will focus on aligning terminal processes with globally recognised standards, with particular focus on vessel arrival, berth planning, container status, port call optimisation, and end-to-end visibility across the container journey. These areas support terminal efficiency, planning accuracy and day-to-day collaboration with shipping lines, including at La Spezia Container Terminal.Renato Dessi, Chief Transformation & Information Officer at Contship, comments: “Joining DCSA+ is an important milestone for Contship. Data consistency is now a prerequisite for reliable operations, and we want to help shape standards that work seamlessly between terminals and shipping lines. Starting with the operational information that supports port calls and planning, we will bring our operational experience into joint development efforts to ensure standards are practical to implement and deliver measurable results at scale.”Mariana Bock-Losada, Chief Growth Officer at DCSA, adds: “DCSA+ was created to open standards development to the full breadth of the container shipping ecosystem. By bringing terminal operators like Contship into the process, we ensure that operational realities are reflected at the table. This stronger terminal perspective adds practical depth to our work, raises the quality of the standards, and helps accelerate their adoption across the end-to-end container journey.”DCSA+ extends DCSA’s collaborative approach to standards development to include carriers, technology providers, cargo owners, forwarders, feeders, and terminals. Partners gain structured access to implementation support, early insight into emerging standards, and opportunities to shape solutions that are scalable and industry-aligned.Media contact

DCSA+ is a partnership programme designed to accelerate the adoption of digital standards across the container shipping ecosystem. It extends DCSA’s collaborative approach beyond ocean carriers to include technology providers, cargo owners, forwarders, feeders, and terminals. Through DCSA+, partners gain structured access to implementation support, early insight into emerging standards, and direct opportunities to shape digital solutions that are scalable, practical, and industry-aligned. The programme is built around three pillars: Connect, Accelerate, and Contribute.About DCSA
The Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA) is a neutral, non-profit organisation founded by 10 of the world’s largest ocean carriers. As the collective voice for digital transformation of container shipping DCSA works to align the industry behind open digital standards that improve interoperability, unlock data-driven insights, enhance customer experience, and drive sustainability. Through shared frameworks and cross-industry collaboration, we aim to enable a transparent, secure, and seamless global supply chain.
